Moon Cactus

Botanical Name: Gymnocalycium mihanovichii

The moon cactus is a grafted specimen that is almost always grown as a potted plant rather than a garden specimen. The lower green cactus host specimen can be a variety of different species but is usually a Hylocereus cactus. It becomes known as a moon cactus when the pieces are joined.

Approximately 12" in height

Care tips:

  • Keep soil fairly dry; water thoroughly when soil is dry to touch, draining excess water
  • Prefers bright sunlight. Will tolerate limited lower light
  • Place in a moderate to warm temperature location
