This fanciful fern was named for its resemblance to a bird's nest. Its central (nest) rosette, is surrounded by lush green fronds, each one crimped beautifully around the edges. This plant acts as a natural air purifier and is nontoxic to pets.
Botanical Name: Asplenium antiquum 'Victoria' . Approximately 17" in height.
- Grows best in low to medium indirect light; Avoid direct sunlight. (The light it receives will affect how crinkled the leaves are; Less light will have flatter leaves. But, keep in mind that too much light will cause the fronds to yellow and die).
- Water Moderately; Soil should be kept consistently moist, but not wet. Avoid watering right into the 'nest' to avert mold and rot. Water the soil rather than the plant. (The plant will tolerate its soil drying out from time to time, though).
- Thrives in warm, humid conditions.
